With all the running and racing that comes with planning a wedding, it can often go by in a blur. So many of our Real Wedding couples give the advice to soon-to-be weds to take time on the big day to savour the lovely moments, and really be present. With this in mind, we bring you the beautiful ancient Sanskrit poem, Look to This Day by Kalidasa, that is full of wisdom about the joy of living in the moment, especially on your wedding day. We think you'll love it.
Look to this Day by Kalidasa
Look to this day
For it is life, the very best of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the truths and realities of your existence.
The joy of growth,
The glory of action,
The splendour of beauty
Are but experiences of time.
For yesterday is but a memory
And tomorrow is only a vision
But today if well-lived,
Makes every yesterday a memory of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope
Look well therefore to this day;
For it and it alone is life.
